Before you start

Installing the app

  1. In your BigCommerce control panel, go to Apps → Marketplace and search for ProductIQ.
  2. Click Get This App, then Install.
  3. Review and confirm the permissions. ProductIQ asks for read and write access to your products and categories (so it can fix issues you approve), read-only access to orders (to calculate revenue impact) and read access to store information.
  4. That's it. The app opens automatically and appears under Apps → My Apps → ProductIQ from then on.

What happens on first launch

  1. Catalogue sync. ProductIQ builds a read-only mirror of your products, categories and brands. A progress screen shows the live count. A few thousand products take a couple of minutes; very large catalogues (100,000+) can take up to an hour.
  2. Scoring. Every product is scored against a best-practice rule set (images, descriptions, SEO fields, stock visibility and more). You can edit every rule and weight later in Scoring Rules.
  3. Order history backfill. Your last 90 days of orders are ingested in the background, usually within the first hour. This powers the revenue impact estimates next to each issue.

You can start exploring as soon as the sync finishes - nothing is changed in your store until you preview and commit a fix yourself.

Staying in sync

After the first sync, ProductIQ keeps itself up to date automatically: changes you make in BigCommerce arrive via webhooks within seconds, and a background check runs every 15 minutes as a safety net. You can also trigger a full re-sync from Settings at any time.

Uninstalling

Uninstall from Apps → My Apps in BigCommerce. Syncing stops immediately and nothing in your store is touched. Your mirrored data and audit history are retained for 30 days (in case you reinstall), then permanently deleted.
